This is a long overdue post....that Dan was supposed to do.... ; ) On December 12 Dan took Sam and Zoe into Geneva for the l'Escalade festival. It is a celebration dating back to 1602. I'm not quite sure of all the details but it originally involved a woman pouring a pot of hot oil on an invader that led to a battle. It was freezing that day, but the kids enjoyed seeing people in period clothes and there was a mock battle in the streets. The highlight was the chocolate pots. Dan bought one and it's still sitting here because it's too cool to eat!
