Strasbourg and Colmar, France

Zoe and I had a mother/daughter weekend with the mother/daughter team of Susie and Pia Ultes. Destination: Christmas Markets in France. The Strasbourg Markets date back to the late 1500's; the oldest in France! Strasbourg is a beautiful city and each main street was decorated with a different theme of lights. The pictures cannot really capture the mood.

The girls enjoyed shopping for ornaments. Zoe picked ornaments out for her brothers, dad, and herself. She also enjoyed hot apple cider and warm spiced orange juice. We ate crepes, quiche, big pretzels....yummy!

Sunday morning we climbed the top of the cathedral for amazing views of the city. At around noon we got in the car and drove 50 minutes to Colmar, another city known for their markets. Colmar is smaller, but equally as charming. We didn't get home until 7 pm, Sunday night. Zoe wants to know when we can do it again!
