Yvoire, France

So while Dan was in Germany I took my parents and the kids to France! It was a good day to get out of Morges...way too many people! Saturday is our outdoor market, plus there was a carnival across the street, an art fair in the park with all the tulips, AND a wine tasting event by the train station. So at 10:00 we headed out of the house and walked through the market to buy some croissants. We boarded the boat at 10:40 and after three stops on the Swiss side of Lake Leman we headed across the lake and arrived in Yvoire at around 12:30. It was a beautiful sunny day. The kids really enjoyed the boat ride. Especially Ben who never sat still for more than 30 seconds. AUGH! He's just so exhausting sometimes!!!

First off we bought jambon et fromage crepes (ham and cheese) and had lunch on a bench next to some red tulips. Very cheery. There isn't a whole lot to Yvoire and the boat doesn't return until 3:30, but we did ok. Ben fell asleep in the stroller for about 45 minutes which helped! We shopped a bit and I found Mother and Father's Day gifts for my parents. After an ice cream we headed near the lake where there was a grassy area for the kids to play frisbee. After about 3 tosses Zoe threw it into the lake causing Sam to go into hysterics (it was his spiderman frisbee). So we got a bit "MacGyver" and used a stick to fish it out. It only took us about 15 minutes. In the meantime we tried our best to ignore the couple over in the grass who were, I'm pretty sure...um, cough cough. Yeah, the French....

Sam also thought we missed our return boat and started crying again. After reassuring him that indeed his mother knows how to read a boat schedule he calmed down. It was a nice boat ride home and an overall great day! I'll add some pics soon!
