Hi y'all! Sunday night here and the Elko family has just completed another European road trip. On Wednesday afternoon we loaded up the car and headed towards Paris. The kids had Thursday and Friday off for Ascension and we had promised them a "Kids' Vacation". Destination...Disneyland Paris! We were all pretty excited. Paris is only a little more than four hours by train, but we were driving so we figured it would take us up to six hours. It took a bit longer as we had a most exciting stopover at a wayside. Benjamin threw-up all over himself and his carseat. It was disgusting! Dan cleaned the carseat and I cleaned Ben. He was great after that! I guess whatever he had for lunch didn't agree with him, poor kid.
We arrived at the Marriott Village d'Ile-de-France and were thrilled with Dan's choice of accommodations. The Disney hotels were super expensive and we decided to stay outside the park. We had a two-story townhouse with a full kitchen and laundry! I actually came home from a trip and didn't have to immediately wash clothes! It was great! The hotel had a really nice and WARM pool that the kids loved. Sam and Zoe are quite the little fish. Both could swim the width of the pool underwater without their floaties. They've never had swim lessons, so we are proud of them. Ben even enjoyed the pool with swimmies on...this kid has NO fear.
The other "enjoyable" part of our hotel were the beautiful gardens and pond in the back. The kids loved seeing all the frogs. There was also a resident goose that chased them and terrified Benjamin! But what was most entertaining were the frogs. They didn't stop "croaking"....EVER. At night it felt like we were in the Amazon jungle listening to screech monkeys all night!!! You kinda got used to it. We all slept great. Then again we were all exhausted from some action packed days!
