Last Saturday we took a daytrip to the city of Annecy. It is about an hour drive from where we live and we thought the kids could handle that after all the travelling we've done! We had a great day and Annecy was beautiful. The town is situated on Annecy Lake and has canals running through the city. It was so picturesque. The Lonely Planet Guide described it as the perfect city to just stroll though and that is exactly what we did.
We simply took our time, stopped at playgrounds for the kids, visited the church and chateau, and had lunch along the canal. We regretted the chateau tour because the kids weren't all that interested, but it got us indoors for a bit. Dan and I were also hit with food envy as we watched people dining el fresco. We are missing out on so many culinary delights because dining with three children in Europe is next to impossible!!! Sigh
Before we headed back to Morges we drove around the lake. There were many people out enjoying one of the last weekends before the August holidays come to an end.
