Zoe had her first piano recital on Tuesday night at school. She began her lessons this fall at school and they are conducted in French. She has really made some progress. The technique the teacher uses is not the way most of us are taught in the U.S. She hasn't learned ABC, but rather Doe-Rae-Mi. Her ears are being trained to learn the sound rather than the key on the piano. We hope that we can find an instructor who uses this method in the U.S.
She did a fabulous job and I was surprised she didn't seem that nervous. She performed one duet with her teacher and then played a song alone. I think she was relieved when it was over though! Her friend Lara also performed and the girls gave their teacher, Anne-Christine a bouquet of flowers after the show.
