We didn't spend enough time in this town, which we affectionately called, St. Jimmy-John's. This was our third stop after Sienna and Volterra. By then it was extremely cold and windy. It also started pouring when we were there. This was an amazing walled town nestled on hill with 14 towers. They once actually had 72 towers! Oddly enough the town now has not one, but two museums of torture....seriously. We bought a bottle of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, their white wine. Michelangelo described it as, "it kisses, licks, bites, thrusts, and stings". We haven't tried it yet...I'm a little scared!
