Yes, we weren't lucky enough to have an Under the Tuscan Sun experience, but we managed non-the-less! We spent four nights at the Hotel Borgo Castelletti. It was amazing!! We had an apartment, allowing us to cook our own evening meals. The grounds were beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfasts....yummy! It was also a perfect location to visit Florence (20 minutes by train), Volterra, Pisa, San Gimignano, and Lucca. What we didn't realize was how much time we would be spending in the car and how challenging Italian driving could become. I give Dan lots of credit. He was pretty stressed out and obsessed a bit about the possible traffic violations, but he did a great job.
