Are we IN a cloud dad?

Monday is a holiday for the canton of Vaud so the kids didn't have school and Dan had off work. We laid low in the morning to catch up on a few things and planned a trip for the afternoon. We realize now that we travel better in the morning, but still had a great adventure.

We took the train to Montreux, which is on the far east edge of Lac Leman. From there we boarded the GoldenPass Line and took a hour train ride up a mountain! Our destination was Les Rochers-de-Naye located at an altitude of 6,709 feet! The guide book says that the rocky shelf offers superb views of Lake Geneva and the Jura. Well you'll see from our pictures that we were literally in the clouds and couldn't see a darn thing!

It was cold on the top of the mountain, but the kids loved seeing hte marmots. They have marmots from all over the world living here on top of the mountain. They also have two of Santa's reindeer and Santa even has a house on top of the mountain. They also rent Mongolian homes for the night. I think it would be cool to do that sometime, but I don't think the kids would enjoy it much.

The sun was shining on the way down the mountain and we got some good views. It was a really neat trip. Ben and Sam fell asleep on the way down the mountain, Zoe pretended to sleep, for about 30 seconds.
